I was actually going to buy this one myself when I was having a look at Kerry's beads, but I decided to stick with purples and pinks...

Bead by Larry Brickman.329 viewswww.brickmanartglass.com
I went looking for Larry's site and found that he has suffered a recent health scare. So while his site isn't up and running at the moment, I'll leave the link here anyway for future reference.
The December issue of Bead & Button will feature this bead on its cover and contain an article on Larry.

I have not had much success with Dichroic, so I was very impressed with this bead as well.

The first beads I ever Made - September/October 2003259 viewsI quit my job and spent my money on a 5 day Beginners Bead Making Class with Kathryn Wardill in Brisbane.
NOTE: I had other reasons for quitting my job - it wasn't so that I could earn an income from my beads... It doesn't work that way... lol

Red Beaded Butterfly250 viewsI made four beaded butterflies for my youngest daughters 18th birthday next month. This is the first one I attempted. Consisting of seed and bugle beads, czech AB beads, one opalite two holed bead, some of my lampwork beads (including the face bead), and a cathedral bead. All wired on 26 gauge artist wire. Pattern was found in Vintage Style Beaded Jewellery by Deborah Schneebeli-Morrell.

Green and Yellow Beaded Butterfly242 viewsOk, I've decided to get a bit creative now. For my third butterfly, I found some pictures and decide to see how close I can get to the real thing. This one is mainly seed beads and a couple of czech beads and my own lampwork beads for bits of the body. This one is wired using florists wire.

Princess Serenity Dress - before198 viewsOne month before Victors' formal, he and Crisi decide that they want to go as Princess Serenity and Tuxedo Mask (from Sailor Moon). Crisi gets the dress made for her in the US but unfortunately not by her prefrerred dressmaker. It arrives two weeks before the formal, but it needs alterations...

Kathryn demoing a hollow bead198 viewsMy very first glass beadmaking class was with Kathryn Wardill in Brisbane in September/October 2003. I had seen some Lampwork Beads on eBay for the first time about a month or two prior, & although I had just quit my job, when I saw an advertisement for the class on the website of Albion Glass in Brisbane, I signed up. I was only going to do the 5 day beginners class, but ended up staying on & doing the three day advanced class afterwards. My entire final pay went into it, but it was money well spent.

Purple Floral Lampwork Bead by Kerry Harper197 viewsThe first bead I bought at the show was this one from Kerry.
I had picked this bead and the following dichroic one before Kerry told me that she had only been making beads for 12 months - and she is using a hothead!!
It almost made me feel like giving up bead making altogether! But I sorted myself out and am now even more determined to be able to do this well myself... ;-)
Good work Kerry...

One of Anne Cliftons' famous Inside Out Beads194 viewsNow, I'm not into yellow, but I just could not resist this bead. (And Anne didn't have any other colours left by the time I got around to buying anything off her...)
I am amazed at how Anne gets the glass to swirl inside the bead like she does. So impressed in fact, that I think a trip to Perth is on the cards... lol
I'm sure Deano would like to go visit his birthplace of Kalgoorlie... ;-)
