Chrissie's 18th Birthday Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet70 viewsI was meant to be making Chrissie a black and white choker that she asked me for, oh, about a year ago, but after making all those butterflies, I ran out of time. I hope she likes this instead.
Dsc09376 - Lous Dangle Bracelet.jpg
Lou's long awaited Lampwork Dangle Bracelet94 viewsPoor Lou, I was meant to make this for her birthday in April this year... she has had the beads picked out for way longer than that though... I hope she likes it - I sure do. :-) Consisting of chain, wire, round silver beads and toggle in Sterling Silver; my own lampwork beads; Chariot Pebbles; Plain and AB Pink Swarovski Crystals in 3,4 and 6mm; Peridot discs; Pink glass flower spacers; Bali and Sterling Silver charms.

Finders Keepers Class - July 20070 viewsChain and pieces that I made in the class. Three "Spirit Sticks", three fiber charms and three Polymer Clay charms . the Poly Clay ones still need to be fired before I can attach them to the chain.

My first Poly Clay charms made at home.1 viewsNice "before" shot. Pity my stupid oven doesn't hold it's temperature properly. They all came out extremely dark and unusable for the projects I created them for!! Oh well, you live and learn hey.
Elemental_Bracelet_No_3_-_Turquoise_and_Pink.jpg
Elemental Bracelet No.3 in Turquoise and Pinks.12 viewsI sat up until 12.45am this morning rushing to get this finished so that I didn't have to do it today before I leave for Brissy. I did add one small thing before taking it's picture and I think it's done now. I love the colour scheme of it. The Polymer Clay Charms got a tad overcooked in our stupid oven, but I decided to use these two anyway. They can always be replaced later.
Elemental_Bracelet_No_2_-_Red.jpg
Elemental Bracelet No.2 in Red.17 viewsI managed to salvage the single gold Polymer Clay charm out of the overcooked bunch for this bracelet. The lampwork beads are all mine and when I make some more charms, the huge hollow lampie at the front will be replaced with one of them. I think it will be a bit heavy at the front the way it is now. Will just have to give it a test run today and see.

gbm 1st Charm Exchange: Aug-Oct 200711 viewsI made this test bracelet to check the strength of my polymer clay charms. They all failed... Back to the drawing board...

All lampwork beads are my own made from Moretti (Effetre) glass.
gbm_Aussie_Charm_Exchange_-_Shell_beads.JPG
gbm Aussie Charm Exchange. Aug-Oct 200723 viewsI originally wanted to make something mixed-media for this exchange, but my ideas didn't work out, so they got shells instead.

The lampwork beads are made from Moretti Striking Yellow glass with Raku decoration. Garnet Rondelles and Swarovski Crystals in Siam add to the final look. All wire is Sterling Silver.
A_whole_bunch_of_lampwork_shells.JPG
A whole bunch of lampwork shells made throughout Sept 07.51 viewsWe had a charm exchange going on the glass beadmakers forum, so I thought I'd make shells. And more shells. And even more shells... The yellow ones with the dangles are the ones I have finally decided to send in for the exchange.

All Moretti glass.

Now to just make a bracelet to hang them all from...

gbm Aussie Charm Exchange. Aug-Oct 2007 - Bracelet Process.20 viewsNow that I have all my charms, I figure I had better get my bracelet put together.

After trialling a few different designs, I finally decided on this chainmaille weave. I hacked the directions to use split rings, and found that when you don't have the right diameter jump ring mandrel, improvise... A 3.5mm rod of Gaffer glass did the trick in this case. (No need to comment on the unevenness of the rings in the middle - it's tricky to wind wire onto a 3.5mm rod of glass using just your fingers...)

gbm Aussie Charm Exchange. Aug-Oct 2007 - Bracelet Process.27 viewsMy completed bracelet.

After some tweaking, (and some repairing - I broke one of the charms. The headpin, not the actual bead thankfully...), here it is. I like it! :-)

AGBG Charmed Florals Exchange - July-Aug 08. "Hippie Chic"4 viewsMy charms. It was a last minute decision to participate in this exchange. I have had an unwell hubby for most of the month so had hardly any torch time but I got these done eventually...

Wanted to go the "Hippie" route and I think these fit the bill nicely. Hope the participants like them.

Charms received from AGBG Lampwork Charmed Flowers Exchange - Sept 20088 viewsMy first bracelet. It ended up a little larger than I meant, so I will have to redo it.

One of the charms, - a large flower - has been designated to feature in a Sterling Silver wire wrapped ring. Will post a pic when it is done.

Qld Beaders Charm Swap - December 20080 viewsAhhh. The joys of deciding to make beads using Double Amber Purple glass. All of these beads were made with this glass.

Rules of this swap were to make charms in Purple, Green, Gold or Bronze. I think I ended up with 14 the same or similar enough that I can actually use.
Flat_Hearts.JPG
Flat Hearts. Assorted prices: $5 for the small ones to $15 for the larger.4 viewsI originally wanted to make these for the Qld Beaders 2008 Charm Swap, but I had too much trouble deciding on the right colour combination.
As it turned out, the bright green one at almost 12 o clock was the nicest out of the lot and it also happened to be the last one I made before deciding I would just go with the shells.

Debs_semi-completed_Charm_Bracelet.JPG
Deb's semi-completed Charm Swap Bracelet5 viewsI say 'semi-completed' as I rushed to get this bracelet made at the meet knowing that once Shona got her charms she would have hers made up in a flash. No competition or anything... hehe No, truly it is because I want to add some swarovski's and some silver charms in there.

I've wired a few of these up and they aren't too bad, so will continue turning them all into pendants now.

FMG Buy June 2009 - Sterling Silver Charms.3 viewsChrissie's 21st is coming up and she has requested I make her a new "chunky" charm bracelet, so I bought some new charms to put on it for her.

Making this new "chunky" charm bracelet has seen me venture into Silversmithing... finally... But that is another story for my blog when I ever get it up and running... *rolls eyes* Someone come and kick me to get me going. ...please...
P1050380.JPG
Chrissie's 21st Charm Bracelet. Chrissie asked me to make her a new "chunkier" charm bracelet for her 21st birthday. So what do I do...?11 views...Yep, I decide that buying large, chunky chain is too expensive so I would learn how to do silver soldering so I could make one myself...
$700 or $800 later and here is the finished product...
All rings were cut and soldered by me. Unfortunately, I ran into some difficulty when it came time to solder the actual charm links on... They just wouldn't take for some reason, so I will give her some pliers so she can keep an eye on them herself. ;-)
