Debbie had an astounding collection of beads from big name artists in the US which she made up into gorgeous jewellery pieces.
If only I had taken more money...

Bead by Larry Brickman.329 viewswww.brickmanartglass.com
I went looking for Larry's site and found that he has suffered a recent health scare. So while his site isn't up and running at the moment, I'll leave the link here anyway for future reference.
The December issue of Bead & Button will feature this bead on its cover and contain an article on Larry.

And more stands...145 viewsThis shot was taken half way down between Jill Oxtons and the far wall.
To those of you who didn't get there, but really wanted to, what can I say?? You should be kicking yourself... or at least giving yourself a severe talking to so that it doesn't happen again. lol
If what I hear is correct, then there will be 3 similar shows next year. Melbourne in May, Brisbane in June & Sydney in Oct. Woo Hoo!!!

Beaders Dinner on Sunday night142 viewsYes Cathy, I'm putting this picture in anyway, even though you were being silly. lol
Thanks to Nancy for organising this dinner and for finding a restaurant who was happy to open just for us. They served the most delightful food too. Just ask Anne who ate and drank everything that she normally wouldn't. Meat, eggs, milk etc, etc... She was a very naughty girl, but oh so much fun... ;-)

Purple Floral Lampwork Bead by Kerry Harper197 viewsThe first bead I bought at the show was this one from Kerry.
I had picked this bead and the following dichroic one before Kerry told me that she had only been making beads for 12 months - and she is using a hothead!!
It almost made me feel like giving up bead making altogether! But I sorted myself out and am now even more determined to be able to do this well myself... ;-)
Good work Kerry...

Another Bead by Kerry Harper333 viewsThis one was bought for me for my birthday by Anita. Thank you Anita.
I was actually going to buy this one myself when I was having a look at Kerry's beads, but I decided to stick with purples and pinks...

One of Anne Cliftons' famous Inside Out Beads194 viewsNow, I'm not into yellow, but I just could not resist this bead. (And Anne didn't have any other colours left by the time I got around to buying anything off her...)
I am amazed at how Anne gets the glass to swirl inside the bead like she does. So impressed in fact, that I think a trip to Perth is on the cards... lol
I'm sure Deano would like to go visit his birthplace of Kalgoorlie... ;-)

The Reject Pile133 viewsHaving to make 8 of the same bead using only red and white proved a bit of a challenge for me.
I don't know how everyone else went with theirs, but here are 65 of mine that didn't make the cut.

Princess Serenity Dress - before198 viewsOne month before Victors' formal, he and Crisi decide that they want to go as Princess Serenity and Tuxedo Mask (from Sailor Moon). Crisi gets the dress made for her in the US but unfortunately not by her prefrerred dressmaker. It arrives two weeks before the formal, but it needs alterations...

Princess Serenity Dress - after277 viewsI finally find someone who agrees to do the alterations to the dress because she knows that we would not find anyone else who will do it. THANK YOU MEL. kiss kiss kiss
Victors Mum also made his vest and cape. ...with the same amount of notice and after they had already bought a suit for him to wear on the night... Teenagers!!! lol
Don't they look great... I was an extremely proud Mumma seeing my baby looking and feeling so wonderful.

The Mirus Beads challenge for August 2005 - Alice in Wonderland.98 viewsAlice peering over the mushroom at the hookah smoking caterpillar.
I had the brilliant idea to make these multi-piece beads. Remind me not to attempt this again unless I have a kiln. This was the 2nd Alice I made and her skirt broke whilst taking her off the mandrel.
The first Alice was too tall and skinny. I suppose I could have entered her as the 'growing Alice'. lol
The signed blue mushroom was a perfect find at a Antiques Fair that was in town for the week.

Wooden Cabinet for Glass Storage120 viewsThis cabinet has been sitting under Deane's workplace for 5 or 6 years and so we snavled it so I could use it to store my lampwork glass rods. It is 2.3 mt high x 1.08 mt wide x 34 cm deep and only just fits under the ceiling and boy, did the guys have fun getting it in there. ...and then getting it upright. Thankfully they only took a couple of tiny pieces of paint off the house in the process...
